6 GRISHA COLEMAN: Coleman is a New York-based writer, composer, dancer and choreographer probably best known as a onetime member of the groundbreaking Urban Bush Women dance troupe. She comes to Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco this weekend with her latest project, a multimedia immersive performance/installation piece titled “echo::system — treadmill dreamtime, running in place” (yes, treadmills are a central part of the presentation), which reflects on humans’ seemingly evolutionary penchant for wrecking the world. There are three performances on this stop as well as chances to view the installation.
